An OPG, or orthopantomogram, is a single panoramic x-ray showing all the upper and lower teeth, both jaws and the jaw joints in one image. A lateral cephalogram is a side view of the skull and jaws used to measure how the jaws relate to each other. Together they are the standard imaging for orthodontic planning, wisdom tooth assessment and implant work. BR Dental Hospital owned the first installation of this equipment in the whole Rapti Zone, and referrals from other clinics are welcome.

The scan itself takes well under a minute. You stand still while the machine rotates around your head, and the image is available immediately.
Can my dentist refer me here just for the x-ray?
Yes. Patients are referred to us for OPG and lateral cephalogram imaging by other clinics, and the images are provided for their treatment planning.
Why do orthodontic patients need both x-rays?
The OPG shows the teeth and their roots across both jaws, while the lateral cephalogram shows the jaws in profile. Orthodontic planning depends on both the position of the teeth and the relationship between the jaws.
