How long does a dental crown last?

How many visits does a crown take?
A crown is usually completed over two appointments: the first to prepare the tooth and take an impression, the second to fit and cement the finished crown. Your dentist will confirm the schedule after examining the tooth.
Is getting a crown painful?
The tooth is numbed with local anaesthetic before it is prepared, so the procedure itself should not hurt. Mild sensitivity for a few days afterwards is normal and settles on its own.
